Kilmarnock Train Station in the Running for Best Loved Station 2023

That the Parliament congratulates Kilmarnock Train Station on its nomination for Best Loved Station in the World Cup of Stations 2023; understands that the competition recognises the creation of social spaces within train stations, alongside those supporting local business, education, tourism and sustainability, and that the winners will be chosen by an online public vote; further understands that the competition is hosted by Rail Delivery Group and Community Rail Network as part of Community Rail Week 2023 and aims to shine a spotlight on the work of dedicated volunteers that support stations through Community Rail; notes that over 100 nominations across the UK have been received, and that four Scottish stations made the shortlist; recognises that Kilmarnock Station currently provides space for local businesses and community services alike, including Breaking Bread, B.W.A - Baking With Attitude, Station Gamers, Kilmarnock Station Counselling, Active Travel Hub Kilmarnock and the Kilmarnock Station Community Space; commends the Kilmarnock Station Railway Heritage Trust on its revitalisation of the station; believes that its efforts are recognised through this nomination, and wishes it and all the volunteers the very best of luck in the final rounds of voting.
