Scottish Singer-songwriter, Calum Baird, Performing at Prestigious International Art and Cultural Festival

That the Parliament congratulates Calum Baird, a Scottish singer-songwriter based in Falkirk, on his invitation to perform at the Havana Biennial 2024 in Cuba as part of an international delegation of artists; believes that Calum is the only Scottish musician in the delegation; recognises that the Havana Biennial is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and that it is considered to be one of the most prestigious art and cultural festivals in the world; understands that Calum is looking forward to sharing his work as part of Scotland’s contemporary music and culture with a new, international audience; notes that Calum’s participation has been made possible thanks to financial support from individual supporters and organisations, including the Peace and Justice Project, PCS Union, Fire Brigades Union, UNISON, and the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union; understands that, upon his return, Calum plans to host a special event to share experiences from his time in Cuba, bringing a taste of the Havana Biennial back home to Scotland, and wishes Calum all the best for his performances of Scottish music at this international arts fair.
