Arran Girls Crowned South of Scotland Shinty Champions

That the Parliament congratulates the Arran Primary School girls’ shinty team on being crowned champions of the South of Scotland in the primary schools six-a-side competition; notes that the tournament took place at Peterson Park in Yoker on 22 June 2025, where the 12-year-old team played four back-to-back matches, winning all four to secure a place in the final against Dunoon; further notes that the final was a closely contested match, with Arran securing a nail-biting 1-0 victory; recognises the leadership of team captain Eirlys Bowen, who collected the championship shield on behalf of her team; commends coach Bobby Crowe for his dedication and the support of all those who contributed to the team’s success, and wishes the team the very best as they go on to represent the South in the national final against the winners of the North of Scotland tournament.
